Four Wisconsin residents died on April 19th, when a small plane crashed in Illinois.
The small plane left Nashville Airport and crashed into a field in Trilla, Illinois, near the nearby airport, officials said. The collision killed two men and two women all from Menomony after the aircraft struck a power line.
Federal authorities said they were investigating the accident and expected a preliminary report to be available in about a month.

Who was on the plane?
The Cours County Coroner identified the people on the plane as Ross Nelson, 46, Raimi Randle, 45, Courtney Moreau, 36, Michael Moreau, 48 years old. All four were from Menomonie, Wisconsin.
According to Federal Aviation Administration records, Nelson was the owner of the plane.
What caused a crash in Illinois?
The plane attacked the powerline and crashed in a field in Trila, not far from Coles County Memorial Airport, the National Transportation Safety Board said. The crash happened around 10:16am, the agency said.
The NTSB said investigators are conducting on-scene tests and collecting evidence and data related to the crash. The aircraft will be retrieved and transported to a safe facility for further evaluation.
The NTSB survey focuses on pilots, operating environments and aircraft. The preliminary report will be available in 30 days. The NTSB survey database lists the number of era25fa179.

Where did the plane come from?
The plane departed from John C. Tune Airport in Nashville, according to the Coles County Coroner's Office. The airport opened in 1986 and is designed for smaller, general aviation purposes.
What kind of plane was it?
The plane was a Cessna C180g. The plane will be seated with up to five passengers and one pilot, according to Planephd, a plane information website.
Cessna started in 1927 and, according to the company's website, is one of the “most famous commercial aircraft brands in the world.”

Are plane crashes increasing?
The April 19th plane crash crash was the latest crash in many prominent aviation accidents in 2025.
In January, a commercial American plane and a military Black Hawk helicopter crashed each other in Washington, DC, killing a 67.
So far, there have been 295 aviation accidents this year, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. Of these, 57 was a fatal accident. Historical data from the institutions show that accident rates were steadily permeated between 2012 and 2021/
