The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched a new Public-Private Partnership (PPP) division to promote deeper cooperation between the government of the tourism sector and private stakeholders. At its launch at Accra, GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto described the initiative as a strategic step towards coordinating tourism policy, investment and sustainable development. Based on section 42 of the Tourism Act 2011, the new sector will serve as a platform for joint planning and co-investment for projects that promote tourism potential in Ghana.
Jones Arna Nelson, appointed Director of the new PPP division, reaffirmed GTA's commitment to change initiatives such as Black Star Experience, with a focus on cultural promotion, eco-tourism and innovation. At the launch event, Bright Asempa Tsadidey was introduced as the new director of corporate affairs.
