Ghana and Morocco are making progress towards visa-free travel contracts aimed at strengthening diplomatic, economic and cultural connections. Ghana's Foreign Minister Samuel Okdozet Abrakwa confirmed that the proposal will be presented to both countries' parliaments in the coming weeks. The initiative is expected to promote business, tourism and education exchanges and boost investment and trade between the two countries following discussions with Morocco's Ambassador to Ghana, Iman Waadil.
In addition to relaxing travel restrictions, Morocco is doubleping the annual scholarship allocation for Ghanaian students from 90 to 180, increasing educational collaboration. These developments highlight the deepening partnership between the two countries and position tourism as an important sector for future growth. If ratified, the visa waiver will enhance cross-border tourism and cultural exchange, further integrating Ghana and Morocco into Africa's wider travel environment.
