Good Market in Gambia officially opened at UN75 Kots Park in Banjul on July 4, 2025, providing a new platform for local youth and female entrepreneurs in the tourism and creative industry. The initiative, launched through a partnership led by the EU Youth Empowerment Project and the International Trade Centre, aims to promote products “made in the Gambia”, improve market access for small and medium-sized businesses, and support inclusive and sustainable tourism.
The monthly pop-up event, backed by the National Ministries and Business Chambers, introduces around 30 local businesses and coincides with cultural festivals such as Koriteh and Christmas. Key stakeholders, including the European Union and ITC, highlighted the role of markets in strengthening MSMEs, creating jobs and fostering economic growth by linking Gambia's creativity, trade and tourism development.
