Francis Guichava is becoming a new mover and shaker in East Africa. As chairman of the Kenya Tourism Board, he is expanding his activities around the world as the new vice president of African issues for the World Tourism Network.
The World Tourism Network was launched in 2020 in Berlin, Germany with an ITB Trade Show. Over 200 Zoom discussions were held during the Covid shutdown to reconstruction trip discussions. The ministers, heads of the tourism committee, travel experts and a central audience of small and medium-sized travel and tourism businesses came together. There was no membership fee. With the help of Eturbonews, WTN has become 29,000 members.
WTN has launched several local branches in Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nepal, expanding discussion at the regional level.
Interest groups such as medical tourism have launched a project, particularly Indonesia's medical tourism project.
The World Tourism Network has collaborated with Adrienburg to launch ageless tourism. Adrian recently spoke at the United Nations in New York, and her podcast sets global trends in destination and hotel policies and implementation that want to attract more mature travelers.

WTN is growing, but needs sponsors and paying members to expand further.
Therefore, the World Tourism Network is looking for ambassadors to achieve expansion and funding goals.
Today, the World Tourism Network welcomes Francis Guichave as Vice President of African Affairs. His goal is to position WTN as a global organization that can encourage destinations, primarily small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in global initiatives that benefit the African continent.
This fits perfectly with Gichabe's appointment last week to lead African profits at the African Tourism Agency's Marketing USA.
Mr. Gichabe is qualified as the current chairman of the Kenya Tourism Board.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Juergen Steinmetz, founder and chairman of WTN. “We are excited to welcome Chairman Gichaba to our team of supporters. This will be a huge driving force for many African members and small businesses. Many tourism committees and government ministries are taking part in accessing fellow members from 133 countries around the world.”
Francis Gichava said:
“I am truly honored to embrace the role of Vice President of the World Tourism Network, which is more than a title: it is a call to responsibility, commitment and action.
Tourism is the heartbeat of global connections and the bridge that connects people, culture and economy. Today, when I embrace this position, I do so with an unwavering commitment to innovation, inclusivity and sustainable growth. Together, we will rethink travel, celebrate diversity and create pathways to boost our economy while maintaining the credibility of cultures around the world.
I look forward to working with each and every one of you as I envision a future filled with vibrant, resilient, and opportunity. We stand at the threshold of a new era. It seeks fresh energy, bold ideas and a new vision of global tourism. I bring a passion for turning possibilities into reality, defending destinations and communities, and ensuring tourism is a dynamic driver of prosperity for everyone.
Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to working with you all to make a lasting impact! ”
“We are committed to providing a wide range of services,” said Dr. Peter Tallow, a safety and security expert and president of the World Tourism Network. Safety and security are of great concern in Africa and we would like to work with Francis on projects such as tourism police, consulting and training.
