FlySafair says all technical issues affecting the check-in system have been resolved.
Yesterday, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) announced that global technical issues will affect the check-in system of FlySafair and Lift Airlines, leading to significant delays and long queues at check-in counters.
An unspecified “global system issues” was cited as the reason for check-in issues affecting FlySafair and Lift Airlines in South Africa.
The engineers tackled issues that caused massive flight delays throughout the weekend.
Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at Flysafair, says the airline is investigating the cause of the system's glitches.
“Thanks to the support of our dedicated team, 98% of flights yesterday (Sunday) left on time and the system was restored by 10pm last night. So, all operations are normal since today (Monday).”
Yesterday, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) urged passengers to arrive earlier than usual using flights and lift airlines due to ongoing technical issues.
Passengers have been stuck in long lines since the issue was reported over the weekend.
Travelers were encouraged to arrive at the airport on a local flight at least 3 hours ago and a domestic flight two hours ago.
