FCG OPS has announced the acquisition of Astra Aviation, an established ground services company with a broad presence throughout Africa.
This strategic move marks a key milestone in the expansion plan for the FCG OPS, strengthening the service footprint in sub-Saharan Africa, allowing for the delivery of high-quality ground handling and trip support services.
Founded in 2005, Astra Aviation has over 20 years of operational experience in Africa.
The company is widely recognized for its deep regional knowledge, industry-leading standards and trustworthy partnerships within the local aviation sector.
Focusing on African markets, Astra Airlines has become a favourable partner for international airlines navigating the region's unique operating environment.
“This acquisition represents a key step in our expansion strategy,” said Sergeystarkow, CEO of FCG OPS.
“The aviation industry in Africa is rapidly developing, but remains operationally challenging, especially for airlines in Europe and North America.
“By combining Astra Aviation's regional expertise with service standards and infrastructure, we are fully set to fill this gap, as we do successfully across various regions of Central Asia and Europe.”
The acquisition will bring Astra Aviation's team of airport supervisors and Africa-based dispatchers to the FCG OPS.
Their ground insights and established networks are essential to ensure seamless service delivery and maintaining the continuity of existing clients.
“We're committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Phil Eyre, Founder and Managing Director of Astra Aviation.
“This transition not only expands our services capabilities, but also provides clients with improved operational efficiency and technical approach to FCG OPS.”
The integration effort is already underway, and FCG Ops plans to fully incorporate the Astra Aviation team into their infrastructure within the next six months.
Through this transition, both existing and new customers can expect uninterrupted service and continuous excellence in all operations areas.
With this acquisition, FCG OPS has strengthened its position as a truly global aviation service provider, providing unparalleled support in Europe and Central Asia, and is now significantly expanding its presence in Africa.
