The lighthouse, transformed into Captain Bird Eye's “home”, was completed in a freezer filled with fish fingers and has won a glove in a new competition. The iconic sailor's “home” is revealed as a towering 69-foot structure off the Norfolk Coast, decorated with a personal touch that tells his maritime adventures. The brand's latest contest offers participants a unique opportunity to stay at this lighthouse, just a few miles below the coast from the Roast Fish Finger Factory.
In a recent video, the captain offers a tour of his home, giving you a glimpse of what a lucky winner can expect. Revealed as a 69-foot-high structure off the Norfolk Coast, this coastal heaven is filled with personal artefacts documenting the captain's life at sea. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by worn-out fishermen's waterproofing, “fishing” signs and surfboards casually supported by the wall.
Captain Bird Eyes proudly presents his watchtower, his favorite place to plan his future voyages. Surrounded by voyage books, it offers the best views of the home and offers unobstructed panoramas of the horizon. In the bedroom, his navy suit jacket and trademark hat are meticulously placed, ready for whatever the sea can throw at him.
To sweeten the contract for a potential winner, he unveils a freezer filled with frozen delicacies. Mike Sowerby of Birds Eye said:
“The Lighthouse is a “true” reflection of his adventurous spirit and love for the sea, and we cannot wait to experience one lucky family for ourselves. Enjoy a classic fish finger sandwich in the kitchen or enjoy stunning coastal views.
Since his introduction in 1967, Captain Bird Eye has become a permanent symbol, recognised for his naval attire, sparkling gaze and affinity for the sea.
His image has evolved over time, but he has consistently embodied an adventurous, family-centric spirit. The lighthouse was built 185 years ago and stopped functioning as a lighthouse in the 1920s.
The property consists of seven rooms, including two bedrooms. The contest offers a 6 night stay with up to 6 guests as a grand prize.
