As our presence in Africa gradually grows, we can expand to the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Abundant of life in all shapes and forms, this amazing region was an intuitive extension of our 100-year purpose.
The new lodge, Singita Elela, opened in 2026, embodies the fluidity of the Delta in every way. Adapting as nature itself, we are moving forward with design and guest experiences in honor of this new region and its ever-evolving landscape.
Herrera – meaning “flowing” in Setwana – celebrates the essence of eternal cycles and continuity in the delta. The new lodge concept is easily incorporated into the design and experience it offers, so we echo this.
It consists of ancient winding waterways filled as the rain arrives and retreats. As the seasons change, islands burst with countless species, and with a constantly changing patchwork of lagoons, grasslands and marsh, the delta reflects the decline and flow of nature. Its complexity and biodiversity are only consistent by its beauty.
What is inherent to the Herrera experience is a sense of endless vastness. The Delta has an inherent sense of space, but Singa guests also have exclusive access to one of the region's biggest concessions, 170 000 hectares of pristine wilderness.
A year-round lodge, Herrera personifies immersion. And while new to our family, it will be a natural continuation of all that Singata is true.
