Lagos, Nigeria – (February 13, 2025) – Wakanow, a leading Nigerian travel agency, moves to highlight the digitalization of the African travel industry, integrating Nigerian premium domestic airline Xejet into its booking platform in. The partnership marks the country's transition to greater accessibility for business and leisure travelers by expanding flight options.

With 12 daily flights between Lagos and Abuja, Xejet offers both economic and business class services and meets the increasing demand for flexible domestic travel. The airline plans to expand its network in the coming months and further enhance domestic connectivity.

According to a statement available to the media, Adenike Macaulay, CEO of Wakano Nigeria, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the integration by the company's internal technology team. She said: “With a focus on reliability, comfort and accessibility, this integration is consistent with Wakanow's mission to simplify customer travel while offering more options through a technology-driven platform. .”

Macaulay added that the partnership reflects wider changes in the African aviation industry, where technology and customer-centric innovation are redefineing air travel. “As demand for efficient, premium, tech-driven booking solutions grows, such partnerships are important to unlock new opportunities. Wakanow continues to commit to leading this shift, and travelers are now able to take the lead. “You'll have access to the best options at your fingertips,” she said.

This partnership is due to the Nigerian aviation sector experiencing increased competition and passenger demand, particularly among corporate travelers seeking efficiency. Xejet's Chief Commercial Officer Ugonna Agubuokwu emphasized that the collaboration will enhance access to customers. “Making Xejet flights available on Wakanow.com streamlines the booking process and makes air travel more accessible to a larger audience,” he said.

Ugonna also said that Xejet's pricing model would make domestic travel more achievable. “Economy fares start at 90,000 and Business Class is business class starting from 220,000, making the experience more competitive rates. These fares include promotional discounts, allowing more travelers to compromise. “You can have access to premium comfort, reliability and top-tier service without having to.'' he said.

Beyond premium services, Xejet highlights key industries' factors where operational consistency is key, through safety, reliability, and frequency.

As digital platforms increasingly shape the African aviation landscape, Wakanow's Xejet integration highlights the growing role of technology in expanding flight accessibility and improving passenger experience. The partnership focused on seamless travel illustrates Nigeria's shift towards more connected and efficient air travel solutions.
