Taiwan's EVA Air has confirmed the commitments of six Airbus A350-1000s and three A321neos in the top-up of its order book first disclosed in March.
New orders announced by Airbus on April 7th will make Star Alliance operator commitments to the 24 A350-1000 and the 18 A321neos. The new aircraft is expected to trade fleets of carrier Boeing 777-300ers and A321 CEOs.
For additional orders, delivery timelines are not disclosed. The Eva Air also did not announce the engine selection for the additional A321neos.
Clay Sun, president of Eva Air, said: “As we progress with our fleet and network expansion plans, we look forward to leveraging the expansion range and efficiency of our aircraft to strengthen our market position.”
This order means that all major airlines in Taiwan are A350 operators. China Airlines and Starlux operate smaller -900s, and the latter also holds orders of -1000.
