Portuguese wet lease carrier Euroatlantic Airways has introduced its first Airbus in the form of the A330-200.
The Twinjet, MSN489, powered by the GE Aerospace CF6 engine, was originally delivered to Qatar Airways in 2002.
Euro Atlantic says it is leasing aircraft from Chicago-based AELF.
The A330, previously registered as Malta's 9H-EFS, consists of 295 seats in two classes, including 12 seats in a business-class cabin.
Euro Atlantic says it will become the fleet's sixth widebody aircraft. This also includes two Boeing 777-200ers and three 767-300ers.
The first Airbus introduction is a “significant milestone” in the company's efforts to expand and provide “exceptional services” to its customers, according to the carrier.
“This addition represents the next step in our journey to strengthen EuroAtlantic's operational capabilities and market presence,” says Stewart Higginson's chief executive.
Euro Atlantic offers long-distance transatlantic routes for Polish carrier lots and Brazilian operator Azul.
