Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airlines announced several new destinations hours after disclosure that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has stopped services.
Etihad has opened seven new routes. Most of them are directed from the Arab Emirates' capital to the cities of With Air Network.
Includes Almati, Baku, Bucharest, Tashkent, Yerevan, Medina and Tbilisi.
Etihad said the expansion will start in March next year, but the Medina Route will begin this November.
The route states that it “is intended to bring more point-to-point traffic directly to Abu Dhabi.”
Wizz Air has withdrawn from its Abu Dhabi venture since September, citing operational and geopolitical issues, and instead focuses on European activities.
