Middle Eastern airline Etihad Airways is opening a new transatlantic destination next year, serving the U.S. city of Charlotte.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline will operate four times a week from the city of North Carolina from May 4, 2026.
Etihad says he will deploy the Boeing 787 on the route.
Charlotte brings the number of US destinations the carrier offers to six.
Chief Executive Antono Al Udneves adds that the route is a “strategic addition” to the US network and accesses “dynamic and fast-growing” regions.
This disclosure coincides with President Donald Trump's visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Etihad Airways has also confirmed orders for the 28 Boeing 787 and 777X Twin Jets from 2028.
According to Boeing's official orders and delivery figures, Etihad already has outstanding orders of 28 787 and 25 777x.
