    Ethiopian Airlines Flights

Ethiopian Airlines will expand its global reach with the launch of the new Hyderabad route in June 2025

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest and fastest growing airline, is planning to expand its international reach with the introduction of new passenger routes to Hyderabad, India. The airline will run three times a week between Addis Ababa and Hyderabad from June 16th, starting from 25 people, 25 years old. This strategic move highlights Ethiopian Airlines' commitment to increasing connectivity between Africa and Asia, and strengthens its role as a global aviation leader.

The new route is poised to offer enhanced travel options for passengers on both continents, increasing access to business travelers, tourists and diaspora members. Ethiopian Airlines has a modern fleet and a customer-centric service model, aiming to provide a seamless and efficient travel experience that supports economic, cultural and social connections between India and Africa.

    Strengthening bilateral connections

Hyderabad Services is the latest addition to Ethiopian Airlines' robust Indian business, which already includes more than 50 flights per week to major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. Hyderabad will become the sixth Indian destination in the airline's growing global network, with its carriers reinforced its commitment to fostering close ties between the two most rapidly developing regions in the world.

The launch is expected to stimulate increased tourism, trade, education exchange and business investment. India's rapidly growing technology and pharmaceutical sector is particularly strong in Hyderabad, in line with the growing demand for emerging African markets and innovation and healthcare partnerships. Ethiopian Airlines is taking advantage of this synergy, helping to streamline cross-border movements and promote economic development on both sides.

    Detailed flight schedule

The newly announced routes will work on the following schedule:

ET 682: Addis Ababa to Hyderabad (HYD) – Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This schedule is designed for optimal convenience and allows travelers to efficiently connect to a wide range of destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the US through Ethiopian Airlines' Addis Ababa Hub.

    Strategic Gateway

Known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant high-tech industry, Hyderabad is an increasingly important destination for both business and tourism. By launching flights to this South Indian metropolitan city, Ethiopian airlines are creating important bridges for trade experts, investors, students and tourists.

The service also provides convenient onward connections to more than 60 African destinations within Ethiopian Airlines network, allowing for smoother transcontinental travel, which previously required multiple stopovers. Similarly, Indian travelers will have easier access to African countries for business, leisure, education and medical tourism.

    Strengthening market presence in India

Ethiopian Airlines has long maintained a strong presence in India, and the addition of Hyderabad further strengthens its position as a major player in the Indian and African aviation corridors. The current operations of the airline span both passengers and freight services, reflecting the growing demand for air freight and logistics solutions that support the trade in pharmaceuticals, textiles, electronics and agricultural products.

The new Hyderabad route is expected to contribute significantly to the airline's freight capabilities. Given Hyderabad's position as a global hub for vaccine production and life sciences, this link will help to strengthen exports of healthcare and medicines to African countries where healthcare infrastructure is rapidly developing.

    Commitment to Seamless Global Connections

Ethiopian Airlines has consistently invested in expanding its global footprint through strategic routes designed to enhance intercontinental access and promote global economic growth. The focus of airlines on operational excellence, safety and innovation has led to its reputation as one of the most trusted and customer-centric airlines in the world.

This latest expansion into Hyderabad reflects its continued commitment. By meeting passenger demand and adapting to market needs, Ethiopian Airlines not only expands its global reach, but also strengthens its position as a reliable bridge between emerging economies.

With the launch of this new three-part service, Ethiopian Airlines continues to offer its vision to connect Africa to the world through a broad, reliable, future-ready network of routes. As airlines strengthen their presence in the Indian market, the doors will also open to new opportunities for tourism, education, healthcare and investment.

In a rapidly globalized world, there is a strong demand for seamless air travel between continents. Ethiopian Airlines' new Hyderabad route is a timely response to this demand, pledging unlocking untapped possibilities and paving the way for even deeper cooperation between Africa and India in the coming years.
