Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger service linking Addis Ababa with Porto in Portugal, expanding its global network and strengthening relations between Africa and Europe. The route, which began at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, will run four times a week using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on stopovers in Madrid.
CEO Mesfin Tasew highlighted the route as a “bridge between Africa and Europe,” in line with the airline's commitment to global connectivity and service excellence.
Porto, the second largest city in Portugal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, adds culturally and economically important destinations to the airline's products.
The launch supports the Ethiopian status as a major airline in Africa and has recently been recognized for SkyTrax's “best airline in Africa” for the eighth consecutive year. The airline currently serves more than 160 destinations around the world and continues its strategic expansion under the Vision 2035 plan.
