Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new daily passenger service connecting Addis Ababa to Abu Dhabi, expanding its Gulf region footprint. The first flight celebrated in Addis Ababa on July 15th is a key step in the airline's strategy to increase connectivity between Africa and the Middle East. The launch is part of a broader partnership with Etihad Airlines aimed at improving travel, trade and investment between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates.
With this addition, Ethiopian Airlines is currently operating in four airports in three UAE cities: Dubai (DXB and DWC), Sharjah and Abu Dhabi's newly constructed Zayed International Airport. The airline currently offers more than 100 flights per week to 13 destinations throughout the Middle East and Gulf regions. The partnership with Etihad supports coordinated route development between the two carriers, enhancing access to both airlines' global networks, and enhancing passenger flexibility and regional connectivity.
