Ethiopian Airlines will work with the African Development Bank (AFDB) to develop Bisshohufutu International Airport near Addis Ababa, a $7.8 billion project aimed at transforming Ethiopia into Africa's best aviation hub.
Located 40km southeast of Addis Ababa, the new airport is expected to increase passenger capacity from 17 million to over 60 million people per year by 2040, and handle more than 100 million passengers per year.
