The award was presented to Tasew at the Grand Abhiadev Africa 2025 ceremony, which brought together over 500 well-known representatives from across Africa and across Zanzibar.
This outstanding recognition celebrates Tasew's years of extraordinary contributions and the continued impact on the success of the airline. It also highlights his admirable leadership for making a difference beyond Ethiopian Airlines.
Tasew said, following his award winning: “There are two joys I feel after receiving the Ato Girma Wake Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is more than honorable as it was named after the African Airlines' former CEO and my leader, Ethiopian Airlines.” He said, “This award is a testament to the collaboration of the entire team of Ethiopian Airlines. As an African Airlines, we strive to realize a well-connected Africa, and such awareness strengthens more. Using this opportunity, I would like to reaffirm my personal commitment to strengthening the aviation industry in the Aviation Industry of Ethiopian Airlines.”
