Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, has been awarded the prestigious Ato Girma Wake Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to route development and African Airlines.
The award was presented to Mr. Mesphine at the 2025 Grand Aviadef Africa ceremony.
Over 500 well-known representatives of Zanzibar from Africa and beyond. This outstanding recognition celebrates Mesphine's years of extraordinary contributions and continued impact on the success of the airline. It also highlights Mesphine's admirable leadership for making a difference beyond Ethiopian airlines.
Ms. Mesphine expressed her gratitude, saying, “There are two joys I feel about being awarded the Atgilma Wake Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is more than honorable as it was named after my former CEO of Ethiopian Airlines and my leader and was named after my African father and my leader.”
He said, “This award is a testament to the collaboration of the entire Ethiopian Airlines team. As Pan African Airlines Airlines, we strive to realize a well-connected Africa, and that awareness strengthens more.
