Ethiopian Airlines has announced a $150 million investment in new aviation infrastructure, including advanced hangars, modern aircraft component shops and large-capacity aircraft parts shops. The facility, launched in Addis Ababa on July 22, will be completed within two years and is part of the airline's Vision 2035 strategy to expand its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities, supporting the growth of its fleet and strengthening its position as a leading airline in Africa.
The development is expected to enhance the airline's technical operations while contributing to domestic and regional economic growth through job creation and technological advancement. At the launch event, attended by senior government and industry representatives, Ethiopian Airlines' leadership highlighted its commitment to innovation and Pan-Africa progress. The facility aims to position Ethiopia as Africa's leading aviation hub, providing high quality maintenance services and promoting skills development within the sector.
