Ethiopia is bolstering its global tourism outreach following its dedicated media showcase held in London on May 14th. The Africa Travel Show Media Event, hosted by the Ethiopian Embassy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Africa Travel Connect, brought together over 40 UK-based journalists and travel experts to highlight the country's cultural heritage, landscape and emerging tourism offerings. Ethiopian Tourism Minister Seramawit Kassa has effectively emphasized the country's commitment to sustainable tourism as an important pillar of national economic growth.
The event follows the signing of the memorandum of Understanding between Ethiopia and African Travel Connect in April, and will strengthen international tourism promotion through media engagement and strategic partnerships. Representatives from Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda and South Africa also participated in the London event, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in positioning Africa as a competitive and global destination. Ethiopia aims to attract more than 2 million international visitors a year by 2030, and presents fresh opportunities for African travel experts to develop compelling itineraries and raise interest in authentic, sustainable African travel experiences.
