Middle Eastern airline Emirates expanded its aircraft renovation program to an additional 28 Boeing 777-300ers as a result of delays in the Fleet-Renewal.
The airline has 170 Boeing 777-9s on orders and 35 777-8s.
“Our first 777-9 is not expected until 2027, and we continue to communicate with Boeing in our backlog of orders,” Emirates says in a full-year financial briefing.
The carrier also has orders of 15 787-10 and 20 787-8.
An extension of Emirates' renovation efforts means that 219 aircraft will be covered.
Originally it was intended to improve the 120 of the jet, consisting of a 67 Airbus A380 and a 53 777S.
Emirates then expanded its program to another 43 A380 and 28 777 last May, bringing it to 191 aircraft in total.
However, the carrier says it is adding another 28 777 to its scheme “in the face of continuous delays in new delivery.”
This means that the original retrofit target has been increased on almost 100 aircraft.
Emirates says the 219 jets allocated to the program represent a “robust investment” of over $5 billion. Work was completed on the 29 A380 and 20 777S.
“Our retrofit program allows us to provide our customers with a more consistent experience with the latest products, whether they fly on the A380, 777S or A350S,” says Career.
The airline ordered the first A350-900 in January and used the first A350-900, and by the end of March had four people in the fleet.
We deployed the types on routes to Edinburgh, Ahmedabad, Bahrain, Colombo, Kuwait and Mumbai.
Emirates expects to receive four Boeing 777 freighters for the current fiscal year, in addition to 16 more Airbus A350s.
In addition to the A350, the entire 260 aircraft fleet consists of 116 A380s, 120 777-300ers, 10 777-200LRS, and 10 777 freighters from the Skycargo division.
Skycargo added two 777FSs to its fleet between 2024 and 25, adding a pair of wet Boeing 747 cargo ships.
Emirates has 13 777Fs on the order and expects to operate a fleet of 21 freighters by December 2026.
