EasyJet says people's flight or holiday bookings can be cancelled after payment is postpaid under certain conditions.
The airline's website details a comprehensive set of terms and conditions, with one section deciding to “cancellation of bookings for specific actions.” According to EasteJet, the Company “reserves the right to cancel” flights or other reservations, denied boarding, or “takes other measures to protect us and our systems, with or without prior notice.”
“This action may be taken if the cardholder contact information cannot be provided on request to perform a security check. The cardholder did not permit or dispute payments and/or claims that the booking is fraudulent. In connection with the booking (whether provided by the cardholder, booker or passenger), it is fraudulent, abusive, or inaccurate, and/or suspects that the booking's passenger is related to other fraudulent conduct.
EasyJet also outlines a cancellation policy for those who need to cancel their reservation. If cancellation is requested within 24 hours of booking, you can run it for free, except for an online cancellation fee of £49 or a £55 fee, if made through the EasyJet customer service team.
However, even if you booked 24 hours in advance, you cannot create a cancellation two hours before your first flight departure time. If you are suffering from a serious illness or terminal stage, you must submit a medical declaration document.
The airline said: “Our team may review your case and, if your situation is qualifying, at our discretion, provide a refund or flight voucher for the value of subsequent flights.”
If a family member dies, it is recommended that customers contact their customer service team as soon as possible. EasyJet adds: “Our team will review your case. If your situation is entitled, we may at our discretion provide a refund and fee waiver to change your flight or flight voucher towards the value of subsequent flights used within 12 months.
If you happen to cancel or miss your flight, you are entitled to a full government tax refund for unused flights. This can be done by contacting the EasyJet Customer Service team.
