When choosing clothes for your flight, most people prioritize comfort and practicality, especially for long distance people.
However, experts may want to think twice before reaching for tight jeans or leggings the next time you fly, as these popular clothing reveal some of the worst options to wear on a plane.
This may seem confusing as leggings and jeans are comfortable and provide warmth as the plane tends to get colder. They are also a fashionable choice for many travelers, but they are encouraged to rethink.
This shocking information comes from the dangers of tight clothing while flying from the recent conversations that doctors had in the Huffington Post.
Dr. Hugh Paval, an expert on central metro vein pulses, explained that “the clothes you wear when you fly can have a major impact on circulation.”
He continued. “I don't recommend tight clothing, for example. Wearing leggings or other restrictive clothing, such as too tight skinny jeans, reduces the ability of blood to in and out of your legs.”
He discovered that wearing skin-adhering clothing while sitting in a trapped cabin for hours can limit circulation and cause legs, numbness, or even worse, deep venous thrombosis (DVT).
“Wearing clothes that are too tight can lead to conditions like compartment syndrome and Parestetica in Malargia, which can lead to numbness, tingling and severe leg pain,” added Dr. Paval.
Aviation expert Christine Negroni also shared her knowledge on the subject. She agreed to the clothing warning, adding that leggings specifically creates another issue if there is an emergency.
She noted that if a fire occurs, “the problem with leggings is the nature of the material” would pose a fire hazard. Leggings are made from synthetic fibers, which can cause burns.
After sharing the caption, the flight attendant went viral earlier.
In the clip, Sille can be seen walking through her first class cabin, claiming she is talking from experience and saying that she “sees everything.”
The Sille Rydell items like shorts, crop tops, flip flops and more are all bad choices.
The Air hostess also explained that tights should not be worn when flying, as it could be a safety hazard if a fire occurs inside the ship.
She then suggested several options with green light to ensure your safety, style and comfort.
