John MK Wanburuty, representative of the Aircraft Accidents and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB) Ghana, has launched a series of proficiency visits to key stakeholders in the aviation and safety sector.

His first visit was the Ghana National Fire Force (GNFS), where he worked with Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Mrs. Daniela Maussi Ntou Salpon and her team.

During the visit, John Wanborty highlighted AIB's commitment to its core mission to prevent aircraft accidents and incidents through collaboration and stakeholder involvement.

He noted that strengthening relationships with institutions like GNFS is important to promote a positive safety culture within the aviation industry.

“We believe that by working closely with stakeholders such as the National Fire Department of Ghana, we can implement effective measures in bulk to prevent aviation-related accidents and ensure prompt emergency response in the event of an incident,” Wumborti said.

Ntow Sarpong welcomed the initiative and expressed her gratitude for the commissioner's positive approach.

She highlighted that GNFS played an important role in protecting lives and property through robust fire prevention and emergency response strategies.

“This visit by AIB commissioners is a testament to the importance of interagency collaboration. GNFS remains committed and is ready to support initiatives that will strengthen public safety and disaster preparedness,” she said.

The commissioner was accompanied by a team of officers and aircraft investigators who interacted with GNFS counterparts during the visit.

This engagement marks the beginning of AIB's broader stakeholder outreach campaign, aimed at strengthening sector-wide partnerships that contribute to aviation safety and emergency preparedness.
