This little-known seaside town is popular with many visitors to beautiful beaches and lively streets. With warm summer weather in the UK, it is a great time to enjoy a coastal break and this town could be an ideal place to stay.
Sheringham in Norfolk is a much-loved place for those trying to escape to the coast, and that's not a too-loved surprise. Home to the incredible Blue Flag Beach, it is located on the Deep History Coast Discovery Trail. It is also close to the Cromer Shawl Chalk Bed Marine Reserve, known as the Great Barrier Reef in the UK. That means there are things to do and see for tourists.
One visitor on Tripadvisor said:
“The fun, beautiful, yet dense beaches, dark skeleton ditches and gentle waves still induce a pleasant, relaxed love of the sensation.
Another was written: “Absolutely a great town and beach. I have been here for about 14 years and lasts several summer months.
“The beach has a lifeguard station with a boat ramp, and the beach is a very short walk from the centre of the main village, as most holiday homes are designed to allow visitors to stay.
“The board has an ice cream shop walking on the beach and a seat overlooking the ocean.”
The traditional seaside town also features heritage steam rail, shops selling local produce, and great coastal and country walks.
Sheringham was once an old fishing village, and its heritage is still revealed today in the murals that adorn the museums and promenades.
If you're looking for a peaceful holiday in the UK, Sheringham may be the perfect place for you.
