Everyone knows the basic items to pack on your cruise holidays. This usually includes clothing, shoes and toiletries. But sometimes we overlook less common items.
Point Guy, an American travel blogger, should remember that cruise passengers always carry rolls of duct tape. He said it will help repair broken bags, attach luggage tags and repair the hem of torn clothes. He explained that he once picked up his baggage and discovered that it had been split in two places and had a hole at the top. He was able to patch up using tape.
The blogger also said he would use duct tape to attach a paper luggage tag to his suitcase. This is useful after flight and before boarding a cruise ship.
The man said: “You think this is a bit suspicious, but I'm holding back with me. Two years ago, I went home for Thanksgiving and decided to gate check out the carry-on suitcase on Hardside. When I picked it up at the end of the flight, it cracked in two places and had a huge hole in the top.
“Thankfully, I had a roll of duct tape inside so I patched it during the trip, and I also used duct tape to attach a paper luggage tag to my suitcase before getting on the cruise.
Other items he recommends riding on a cruise holiday include air tags to track where your luggage is, highlighters, highlighters to mark daily schedules, magnetic hooks to organize tickets and dinner invitations, and air fescheners when sharing bathrooms.
He also recommends taking cash, luminous, reusable water bottles, waterproof bags and cruise document owners.
