Cruise passengers are encouraged to learn three useful hidden features commonly found within the cabin, helping to maximize storage and keep valuables safe.
While modern cruise ships offer plenty of luxurious features, some passengers can feel a bit sloppy, especially if they make the common mistake of overpacking for travel.
To help tourists make the most of their cabin, YouTube Channel Life travel expert Ilana Schattauer posted a video suggesting passengers look under the sofa.
She explained: “This is one of my favorite things in this cabin. The sofa that you can see right behind me actually has two drawers right away, and these can be used for additional storage.
“If we have three or four people in the cabin right now, I'm definitely grateful that we have those extra drawers. Others, and now our shoes are out of sight!”
Most cruise ship cabins feature two-seat sofas and can usually be converted to another bed. Especially when three or more guests share the same room.
However, few passengers recognize that sofas found in cabins usually have drawers under the cushion. Can be used to store items such as cushions.
Irana also encouraged cruise passengers to check under the bed and around the bathroom mirror to see if other storage areas featured in the cabin.
Similarly, YouTubers recommended that tourists prepare to go on a cruise holiday and take advantage of viewers who are safe in the cabin and reassuring that no one else has access to it.
She added: .
“And by the way, if you're worried about the safety and security of your safe inside the cabin, my understanding is that the cabin attendant cannot open it yourself.”
Finally, Irana emphasizes that many cruise ship cabins have small clotheslines inside the shower, which can be used to dry towels and swimsuits.
She continued: “When you head to the bathroom you usually have a secret clothesline.
“Now you will find this at the top of your shower, where you will just pull on the small silver tip and you will soon find a small string going to the shower area.”
