The newlyweds are deeply disappointed after their dream honeymoon was supposed to have turned into a nightmare. British couple Phil and Hanna Perkins tied the knot on May 9th and set off two days later for a holiday in Rhodes, Greece. However, as soon as they arrived they realized that the hotel was a “chatland” due to ongoing construction work.
The couple said they tried to relax by sitting by the pool on the first morning of their trip, but were shocked to hear the “deafening” noise from the construction work. Phil, 56, of Newport, notified a paper that can hear drilling and slaps all day long during the 1,080 pound holiday. The noise was obviously terrible, so I got the music to own from the bar.
Phil said: “We didn't expect much of the problem as it was a five-star resort. When we got there, everything looked great on the coast, it was a big place.
“After breakfast I was able to hear this constant noise, we could wander and some building work was being done, but it was right next to a pool called the 'relaxed' pool.
“I took it a day and went to see the person in charge, but they were told I didn't know when she would come back. I gave them my number, R didn't come back to me.
“I thought this was not right. It was concrete everywhere. It was just a hellish scene. It was constant excavation, slapping. I said to my wife, “Let's go to the bar and leave this relaxing nonsense.”
“It was all day every day, it was incredible. I'd never experienced anything like that. It was a proper building location.
“I don't expect all the building work. They may have told us before we went, and they haven't promoted it yet. It ruined our honeymoon.
Phil later checked the site and added that work on the building had not yet been advertised. When he arrived home, the husband and wife complained to EasyJet. This offer was rejected as per the Daily Mail until it initially increased to £380.
Feedback Phil posted on a social media site uploaded footage of sympathy for the couple.
One commentator said, “At least they owe you a free holiday.”
Another said: “It's awful for f******. Like hell I can stay there on another day. I spent more vacations fishing than that mate and didn't catch things.”
The other person is “B *****Nightmare!!!!”
A spokesman for EasyJet Holidays said: “I am truly sorry to hear that Mr. Perkins was unhappy with his experience, especially on a special holiday.
“When Mr. Perkins returned home and contacted us, we immediately offered a partial refund. Our team then apologised for his experience and contacted Mr. Perkins to provide further refunds.”
