Comparing long-haul economy flights between Qatar Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines

On my home trip, I usually opt for a vegetarian meal. That's how I reset and ideally eat something a little healthier after a meal-filled trip.

I did it for a flight in Qatar, but instead of marking a vegetarian, I accidentally marked a raw vegetarian.

During the flight, I was served three trays of raw vegetables. Thankfully I had enough snacks to make the entire flight last longer.

Beyond that, Qatar had the advantages and disadvantages of its food service.

The meal felt slightly higher with metal cutlery and during this long flight I received more food. In addition to two meals, passengers were given chocolate and water at the end of the flight, in addition to a hot pocket of spinach and feta.

The scam was that drink services were far more limited. No complimentary wine, beer or soda was offered, and the complimentary options were limited to juice, tea, coffee and water.
