Club Med has confirmed that South Africa's new $100 million resort is scheduled to open next summer.
Reservations for the 411-room club Med South Africa Beach & Safari on the north coast of Kwazulu-Natal are available starting in October.
The comprehensive operator claimed that the venture will be the first hotel in the country to offer a dual beach and safari concept “setting new benchmarks for African hospitality.”
Guests can combine their trips and stays with their trip to Mpilo Safari Lodge, a new game lodge located in Zululand's private 18,000 hectares reserve, home to the “Big Five.”
On a short flight or drive from the beach resort, the lodge features 75 premium tents.
The first Club Pharmaceutical Property in South Africa, north of Durban, will take place after nearly two years of construction work when it opened in July 2026.
When in operation, the resort is expected to create 800 direct jobs and over 1,500 indirect opportunities, boosting the local economy.
Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari will be home to a surf school that is provided by experts and open to children aged 6 and up, with several lessons per day.
Other activities include water sports such as snorkeling, sailing, diving, gravel cycling, padel courts and Club Med's signature flying maze.
A “Zen Zone” for adult relaxation, and a school of spa and yoga will also be featured.
