As summer season approaches beckoning and school holidays, families are beginning to think about potential holiday destinations for the year.
More and more, families are eschewing overseas holidays and favoring a simpler, more affordable UK stay. Favorite centre between adults and children, Parcs offers plenty of activities in locations across the UK. However, those who want to stay longer or travel with larger groups may want a cheaper alternative.
To provide the solution, Louise, the mother of two children, ages 9 and 6, has revealed a budget-friendly alternative.
“If you're looking for an alternative to the cheap centre PARCS, this could be close to your street. We spent just under 500 quids here for three nights, or just under 500 pounds per night,” Louise announced in an introduction to Tiktok video.
She mentions the Sherwood Castle retreat in Newark, between Sheffield and Nottingham.
Through a clip from her video, Louise stated: “Location near Sherwood Forest and the film Robin Hood: The Thief Prince is heavily influenced by it. There are plenty of original props from the film, including actual receptions.”
The mother then displays the lodge and features a kitchen with a dining table connected to the living room with a television, a bunk bed for the children, and even a log burner.
“Woodland Lodge has a hot tub and is pretty similar to the tub at Centre Parks with its layout,” she elaborated. “We even had a log burner here, but the night was lovely.”
She added:
“They even have a small animal farm here too. They have two giant roosters so they don't want to be too close, but these didn't wake us up before 5am each morning.”
However, she warned that the resort lacked Wi-Fi and felt that the Play Park and Mini Golf Courses were unable to meet her expectations.
“However, it's less than half the price of the cheapest Center Parks Lodge, it's in a beautiful location and there are plenty of nice places to visit nearby,” Louise concluded in the video.
The video encouraged several viewers to share their thoughts in the comments section. One person shared, “We stayed there and it was good for a 4 year old so booking the pool to myself was great.”
Others expressed their gratitude to Louise for sharing her findings, commenting, “This place looks like a great price.”
