Many UK cities excel in the tourism industry, including London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and are popular with both national and international visitors. This particular city is one of the most recognized in the country, but it appears that more and more people are interested in paying for visits.

Birmingham has become one of the UK's fastest growing domestic destinations, according to an Expedia report that saw Britt's summer destinations. Travel agency insights have revealed a 105% increase in city searches.

“Birmingham's evolving food and cultural scene portrays more of weekend visitors,” the report reads. The West Midlands city was ranked fourth on Expedia's top summer destination list, just one location in Manchester.

The bustling city combines a variety of interests and incredible attractions for all ages. Bullring Sand Grand Central is the ultimate destination for shopping enthusiasts and directly connects to Birmingham New Street, the city's largest railway station.

When you shop, why not stop for food? And more than 150 stores in the market stalls and shopping areas, the centre also houses over 40 torrents serving food from cuisines from around the world.

The city is also full of incredible museums and galleries to truly discover Birmingham's heritage, including the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG). The landmark, first opened in 1885, is located in a Grade II listed building, with over 40 galleries showing exhibited art, applied art, social history, archaeology and ethnography.

With a 4.4 star rating on TripAdvisor, 1 visitor said:

“We enjoy the current exhibition, Rembrandt paintings, and are no longer Victorian extremists… worth every penny.

For those who want to embrace nature, Birmingham is one of Europe's greenest cities, and the lush city has some fantastic parks perfect for a walk or a picnic with your loved ones.

And the fun won't end in the evening as the city is home to world-class live music venues hosting huge local names and international stars. Not only are pubs, bars and lounges that offer a variety of atmospheres, but whether you're planning on dancing the night or wanting to enjoy a late hangout with friends, you'll find the perfect place to do so.
