One beautiful beach in the UK is known for its white sand and turquoise waters, but it has created the best list in the world. Travel experts vote for the 50 best beaches in the world, and Kyans Cove in Cornwall is the only UK beach to make a list. Coming to 48, just behind Varadero Beach in Cuba and just behind Eagle Beach in Alba, Kynance Cove was clearly impressed by some experts.
Located along the Lizard Peninsula, Kynance Cove is one of Cornwall's most iconic locations, with its glorious white sand and sturdy rocks made up of unique dark green and red serpentine. Announcing the location of Kinans Cove on the list, experts wrote: “Not only for its sturdy beauty and serpentine rock formations, this stunning cove in Cornwall features impressive scenery with water in the turquoise tints that are usually found in the Caribbean.
“The combination of turquoise water and white sand is an incredible standout, especially considering its northern location. At low tide, hidden caves and islands become more accessible to explore, adding to the appeal of the region.
“The creeks located on the Lizard Peninsula benefit from conservation and provide shelter from the harsher elements. Challenging access via steep roads helps to maintain this pristine environment, but they still attract worshippers all year round.”
And it's not just the experts who sing praises for Kynance Cove, but they've received over 1,600 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor. One of them said, “Kynance Cove is the most beautiful natural I've seen. It was breathtaking.
“It's a great walk from the parking lot. First you see it from the height and the coastline. You can go down the paths and stairs, and at low tide, you can go to the beach and water. There's also a restaurant. My daughter isn't swimming either.”
The second is “When visiting the Lizard Peninsula, you absolutely have to stop to see this beach, which is very scenic. From the parking lot, a short trip leads to the best observation points.”
The third one is written as follows:
“The view from above the cafe is also amazing. My only advice is to wear proper footwear as you have to climb onto the rocks to reach the water itself. It's quite a trekking!”
