If you've always dreamed of a gorgeous vacation to the beach hotspots of the Maldives, it could be closer than you think. Prices for trips to the Maldives fell by more than a third last year.
Prices continue to rise in places like Greece and Italy, but on this gorgeous island, prices have fallen by 37% since the same period last year. A 5-star holiday to Medofshui, which costs £1,980 in 2024, is currently only £1,239, with a massive saving of £741.
“We've got a lot of effort into making this a great place to go,” said Betty Bouchier-Hobin, travel expert at Destination 2.
“The drugs are in peak demand, and currently, four-star and five-star resorts in the Maldives offer less full-board or comprehensive packages than their European rivals.
“It can be a great value overall given the exclusive offers, such as free children's locations. This setting speaks for itself with white sand, turquoise waters and world-class snorkeling all year round.”
If you love traveling to this famous hotspot, you won't be bored.
The Maldives are famous for their stunning white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, but there is much more to it than sunbathing.
Sultan Park is a gorgeous tropical garden with a fountain, perfect for wandering under the slightest light of the trees.
If you don't fantasize about gardens, why not simply explore the island you are staying at? The Maldives are small enough to explore on foot, so you can come across all kinds of bars, restaurants and cafes.
If that's the beach you want, you're really spoiled for the choice. According to LonelyPlanet, the best is at Shaviyani Atoll.
The island has multiple breathtaking beaches and incredible art installations beneath the waves that doubled as a coral restoration project known as corals.
You can dive under the surface of the sea and see the submerged sculptures or marvel at the parts above the waves of the beach.
