A new survey by Mattressonline analyzed Air Quality Index (AQI), annual sunlight hours and social media engagement, and determined the ranking of the best cities that wake up through Instagram posts and Google searches related to Sunrises in the 40 most visited cities in 2024. Additionally, Lisbon scored 8.23/10 in the Scenic Sunrise rating of the study. Located along the Tagas River, this one is one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, ahead of London, Paris and Rome.
The origins of the city's history date back to the Phoenicians and Romans, and later influenced by Moor before the Portuguese reconquered it in 1147.
