A bag without wheels can lead to damage as it often requires throwing it into the hold. An anonymous baggage handler confessed that a bag with a jammed wheel is “absolutely the most favorite” to deal with.
They explained: “We try to roll it down, but it falls after moving 6 inches.”
To ensure the safety of your item, we recommend investing in a high-quality suitcase with four fully functional wheels, a soft interior and a sturdy exterior shell.
The handler acknowledged that fragile stickers are not as protective as passengers think, and can even encourage coarse handling by staff. “Some of us are seduced to make them worse, but we never do. Having a fragile tag really doesn’t make a difference,” he revealed.
If you can throw a wheelless bag of distance, the luggage handler revealed that the largest length they witnessed was “about five meters or so.”
