Released on April 1, the brand new Onguma Trails Camp embodies the eco-friendly spirit of Onguma Nature Reserve, featuring solar power and sustainable practices, providing a memorable guest experience while minimizing environmental impact.
Please take a look at this space as the official photos will be shared with you soon. But in the meantime, you can take a peek at a new video here. You can also see expert Alan Maxmismith discussing his walking trail experience. With only four ensuite glamping bell tents, the camp will accommodate up to eight guests. Each tent has an outdoor bathroom in a private ensuite with extra-length beds, luxurious bedding and a hot bucket shower. Guests can relax in front of their tents or in a private wood heated hot tub and soak in the vision and sounds of the wilderness. The trail can be either 2 or 3 nights and there are set departures throughout the winter period.
Onbili Cultural Experience
In other exciting news, Onguma partners with the Ombili Foundation to showcase the fascinating cultural village experiences with the local SAN community. Located about an hour from Onguma, the approximately 2.5-hour experience includes a visit to Ombili Community Garden, School, Craft Center and Bushman Trail. Guests will learn about the traditions of the Sun through fire-on demonstrations, traditional dances and performances by the Ombili Community Choir. The initiative aims to provide educational insights into the Samppele legacy while supporting community development through the Ombili Foundation. The tour ends with the opportunity to meet community members and purchase handmade crafts such as baskets and sculptures. Read more about sightseeing updates.
