Traveling the world and choosing your next holiday destination is no easy task.
But Glove Trotting San Franciscon influencer Sooyeon may have the insights to offer to villas looking for a break in the city.
At her Tiktok Account @Soos.Foods, she reflected on her visits to 17 impressive European cities over the course of a year. However, there were three places that she felt she hadn't reached her expectations.
“These are three cities I'd probably skipped,” Suuillon said honestly about Tiktok. “I didn't mean that these were bad destinations, I didn't enjoy them as much as other cities.”
First of all, Madrid was on her list. There, she was enchanted by Barcelona before staying for two and a half days in 2022.
Compared to coastal gems, Sooyoung seems less intrigued by Madrid, saying, “The main reason is that I went to both Madrid and Barcelona on the same trip.
She said, “…If I were to do this trip again, I would probably skip Madrid and spend more time in Barcelona.”
Afterwards, Catania comes hiding on the east coast of Sicily. The historic port city may look like an idyllic Italian escape. Nevertheless, it did not stand Suuillon's vision of “La Dolce Vita.”
She said: “The city was the least safest and drove off. People weren't afraid to stare at you – I'm sure they were rude or mean, but that made me feel a bit uncomfortable as a female traveler.”
Berlin also won a spot on the list, but when stacked against Catania and Madrid, Suion's qui-strikes with the German capital were quite different.
Unlike other cities, Berlin was not plagued by feelings of danger or boredom. In fact, she praised it for its “welcoming” atmosphere and “cool cafes, shops, roads.”
But she felt there was a lack of something important. “Don't get me wrong, I want to live in Berlin,” admitted Suuillon.
“However, as a tourist, I feel that the main attraction is personally the Muesm of history that is not the biggest.
She added: “The food scene was also quite international so we didn't find many options for authentic local food.
Sooyeon's candid has sparked many comments about Tiktok, and the online community is divided into her views on these beloved destinations.
One Madrid defender wrote, “I don't accept Madrid's slander! I'm like in the fourth inning, it's an incredible city.”
Another beg: “No one here skips Catania,” a confused user asked: “Is Berlin beautiful?
