Former Virgin Atlantic flight attendant revealed an easy way for passengers to save money. And there's one simple trick to increase your chances of free upgrades.
Sky Taylor, a native of Southampton, recently spoke about the trends in dangerous mirrors, and she is currently sharing a flying hack. For those looking for bargains, she encouraged people to avoid third-party websites and search for engines when booking trips.
A content creator who worked in the sky for 16 years told Express.co.uk: Many people go directly to search engines for flights, but go straight to the actual site.
“A lot of these sites know that when you start searching for lights, they're actually searching for flights and come back in more volumes. It's much cheaper to search the site and book a flight. It may be.
“And while these search engines don't do that, you get a much better upgrade offer. They just slap what they think is the cheapest, and you search the next day and you It will rise 300 or 400 pounds because you know you're looking for them.”
But she said that what “the best thing” flyers can do is join a flight program, whether they fly frequently or only twice a year. Her old employer, Virgin Atlantic, has a “flying club” that earns points on any trip, and can be used for reward seats, flight upgrades and airline partners.
Explaining the merits, Skye added: Just join the flight program.
“You'll make them cheaper, you'll get a discount, and a lot of people won't do that. We were pushing it years ago, but they really did have to do that. It is worth it.
She continued: “Even with free upgrades, they are always visible (for members), so many people don't do it, and it's simple. Everyone recently has your club card , it seems they're signing up for this kind of thing, but I don't think it's a problem because they don't think it's flying much, but it actually makes a difference. I always do that I say it's really good.”
Many British people spend their wealth on food during airports and flights. Sky pointed out because they don't realize they can bring themselves.
She said it was one of the biggest myths that passengers had and encouraged people to come armed with as many packed sandwiches as they wanted.
“I think a lot of people get panic about something very simple that allows them to bring food,” she explained. “I think it's weird to think people don't bring food. You can bring as many bloody food as you want, especially with kids and things like that. If there is, do that.”
