Cruise passengers have warned that simple mistakes could mean that they were forbidden to get on a ship.
Gary Bembridge, a travel expert, has made many changes in 2025, saying that all cruise passengers need to be careful. In particular, those that may land the British people in hot water are visa changes.
This is because the two major areas that cruisers often visited have brought new travel rules this year. Gary says that visitors from the United States, Australia, and New Zealand need to apply for an electronic travel approval (ETA) visa.
From April, this scheme will include more European countries. Travelers departing from the UK have changed the entry exit system (EES).
Gary warned about the hints on the traveler YouTube channel: 。
“You can even prevent it from reaching a cruise in the first place. By the way, all cruise lines are up to us to get appropriate documents and visas.
“If you don't have the right thing at check -in, they will deny the US boarding, and the risk of doing it in 2025 is increasing.”
Travelers from the UK to Europe must apply to this year's European travel information and approval system (Etias). It covers the entry into Schengen countries from the UK and costs about 6 pounds for 7 euros.
With this change, GOV.UK explains when people from the UK to the Schengen area have registered and photographs who have registered biological authentication data such as fingerprints. Approval lasts for three years.
The time when the etias system comes into effect has not been announced. Gary added: “If you are participating in a cruise anywhere in Europe, you need to check if you are running before leaving your home country.
“Since the last day has not been set yet, please keep checking the startup time and build a sufficient time to get them.”
Gary warns a cruiser that it is necessary to confirm that he will use the official website before applying for a visa or document. He says this is because the “fake” site often adds extra fees to travelers.
