Afrijet Business Service (J7), one of the leading airlines in Central Africa, has expanded its network by adding Port Harcourt in Nigeria and Bangui in Central Africa, to promote regional travel. It brought total destinations to 16 cities.

Afrijet officially launched the Port Harcourt route on January 21, 2025, providing a direct air link between Ribbleville, Gabon and Port Harcourt International Airport.

Afrijet general director Nyl Moret-Mba said the service is currently operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing from Libreville at 9:15am and 3:30pm, and on Wednesdays and Fridays. On the way home, we arrived and went to Ribbleville at 12:30pm and 7:15pm.

Moret-Mba described the expansion as an important step in regional integration. According to him, “This direct flight between Libreville and Port Harcourt and between Libreville and Bangui represents a major milestone in promoting regional travel.

“We are addressing the important needs of strengthening the relationship between Central Africa and Nigeria by reducing logistics barriers. We are pleased to provide passengers with faster, more comfortable and direct options.”

The airline company emphasized that flights will be conducted using ATR 72-600 aircraft, houseing eight business-class passengers and 54 economy-class travelers.

The journey between the two cities takes just an hour and 15 minutes and offers a seamless connection with Douala, Pointe-Noire, Port-Gentil, Malabo, and Johannesburg.

This new route is expected to facilitate travel to the Nigerian diaspora, professionals, business travelers, and Nigeria's diaspora.

Afrijet announced that flight frequency will increase four times a week starting in April 2025 to meet the growing demand.

Following the launch of Port Harcourt, Afrijet will begin direct flights between Libreville and Bangui on February 19, 2025. This route is operated once a week using a CRJ 900 aircraft with a capacity of 90 passengers.

Departing from Ribbleville will be at 3:45pm and returning flights from Bangui will be at 6:30pm. Starting in April 2025, the airline plans to increase Bangui services to three flights a week, further enhancing connectivity between Gabon and the Central African Republic.
