Beloved by the British, the African country is loved for its stunning weather and iconic attractions. It is set for the tourist boom. Recent reports show that the country has the most hotels planned, built or prepared to open across the continent.

The pipeline will have 577 hotels and 104,444 rooms, according to the 2025 hotel chain development pipeline in Africa by W Hospitality Group. This 13.3% increase was the previous year as many hotel brands partner with 42 African countries, including Comoros and Somalia. However, the latest report shows that Egypt accounts for 32.5% of new rooms this year.

As Business Insider Africa reported, this is up from 28% last year, from four times the room as Morocco. Meanwhile, only five hotel contracts have been made in Nigeria this year.

A total of 143 new hotels in Egypt are located in the pipeline. This is equivalent to an additional 34,000 rooms at your beloved holiday destination.

In 2024, Egypt welcomed a record 15.7 million tourists. This is a slight increase from around 15 million the previous year.

Egypt is popular because it offers a variety of experiences to its villas. It benefits from a rich history and culture, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Temple of Luxor, and the Valley of Kings, considered a must-see attraction.

The Nile also offers a great way to explore the country as you pass through towns and historic sites. Tourists can use it to travel between Luxor and Aswan, offering spectacular views on their journey.

For more active tourists, Egypt offers diving, snorkeling and desert adventures. The Red Sea is perfect for lively coral reefs and water sports.

The capital city of Cairo is home to bustling markets and many modern attractions. There is also a lively nightlife for young holiday makers.

Egypt has many 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. Despite some concerns about the safety of the country, most visitors agree that it is tourist friendly.

Commisioner07 states: “Egypt was very safe and tourist friendly. Our guides did their best to provide the most memorable visit ever.

“I am very grateful to have seen Egypt and have met so many positive people. Thank you for showing us your beautiful country and giving us the comfort and peace we deserve.

Razorfish added: “The Nile views were fantastic and the sunset was spectacular. I was really surprised at how beautiful the Nile is and how vast it is.”

Kallepia writes: “From friendly and helpful staff to very comfortable accommodations to delicious and diverse food, everything was fantastic.”
