With the theme of “Bridge Africa and Europe through Tourism Exchange,” Aetef 2025 served as the best platform for travel and tourism stakeholders to connect, share and explore innovative solutions for the future of tourism between Africa and Europe.

The Africa Europe Tourism Exchange Forum was held at a high hotel in Rome from May 15th to 17th, 2025, bringing in participants from two continents looking for opportunities to exchange collaboration opportunities to promote global tourism, foster partnerships and collaborate.

Africa tourism is growing, but Europe remains a major major market and partner.

Showing off the breathtaking beauty of nature, Africa has established itself as a sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism hub. European tourists are targeting Africa for wildlife tourism staying at ecolodges across the continent.

Heritage and cultural tourism are other segments that attract European tourists looking for authentic experiences in Africa. Visits to historical sites with cultural events and ties with African communities have attracted a considerable number of European tourists to spend their vacation on this continent.

Europe is the highest ranking among European countries where Italy, Germany, the UK and France source tourists every year to Africa, and has been a major source of tourists visiting Africa for decades.

The Africa Tourism Board (ATB) is currently promoting Africa as a global destination, taking the continent to a global stage of high-demand tourist destinations.

Europe and the United States are the major tourism markets promoted and marketed by ATB, with the goal of primarily American tourists traveling higher spending and spending vacations in Africa.

The Africa Tourism Agency promotes the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and diverse attractions of the continent, which positions the continent as its best destination, while ensuring the happiness and empowerment of local African communities.
