ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) will serve as a beacon of innovation to promote future aerospace and aviation capabilities.
He made a statement when he visited NASTP in Rawalpindi. NASTP is a flagship project led by the Pakistan Air Force.
During the visit, the president received a detailed briefing on the various setups established in the park, celebrating the PAF and its skilled personnel in addition to communicating praise for the cutting-edge technology ecosystem.
The chief of aviation staff, Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, who was present on this occasion, emphasized the national importance of projects poised to form the basis of Pakistan's knowledge and technology-based economy.
NASTP aims to bridge the gap by seamlessly merging private and public sector businesses in the space, cyber, IT, artificial intelligence and aerospace domains.
The president praised the PAF and its skilled personnel, and conveyed his admiration for the cutting edge technological ecosystems witnessed at the NASTP.
He also praised the Pakistan Air Force's leadership for its vision and proactive approach to addressing the challenges of modern warfare and completing this project of national strategic importance in an unprecedented time frame.
