A stunning hidden gem of quartz village looks straight from fairy tales | UK | Travel

If you travel through the small but idyllic village of Hattonlu Hall, you will swear you are turning through pages of sweet, ancient fairy tales.

With a population of about 400, this beautiful place is located in Yorkshire's Ridale district near the Odo Hill, and despite being just 25 miles outside the city of York, it is like a hidden gem.

Sitting on the Majestic Riverdub inside the magnificent North Yorkmoor National Park, the village is famous for its “a charming red roofed cottage, buzzing streams and grazing sheep,” according to the town's official page.

This, alongside all “pictorial stone cottages and traditional village greenery,” brings visitors to awe-inspiring.

Despite the small number of residents, Hutton-Le-Hoyle attracts many tourists every year. They often flock to town for a variety of festivals and events, especially the annual sheep fairs, as well as May Day celebrations and Christmas markets.

Plus, when they're bunkering here you'll think they're not enough for them to do, it's all a lot. While nature-related activities such as hiking, cycling and fishing are the most common, there are also attractions perfect for those who are perfect for learning about the town's history and culture, scattered with 29 listed buildings, as well as learning about the town's history and culture in gift shops and cozy tea rooms.

The Rydale Fork Museum, an outdoor museum, is located here, and it tells the story of locals from the day they went to this day. For many, it is considered “must visit” for those who find themselves in Hatton-le-Hall at any time.

“Amazing range of attractions and very informative things,” said a visitor who posted an overwhelmingly positive review of the museum on TripAdvisor. “It's probably about 90 minutes long.

“The highlight (for me) was the extraordinary and unusual time capsules from an early photography studio with large windows for sunlight and a sunlight-driven magnifier.

The second is, “I enjoyed the museum and was totally surprised at how lovely and wonderfully valuable the money is, and how it is in a beautiful village,” and another, “The first word that comes to mind is… wow! The museum is made entirely with dedication.

“I had never experienced it right away and was transported very quickly in the past where I was able to spend hours here (unfortunately, we arrived later than intended), and I was blown away by the thoughts and attention that were conceived to create such a magical place.

“We visited Halloween and every effort was made to make the experience great for our young children.

Another activity on offer is the chocolate factory in the village where you can purchase great tasty gifts for friends and family. Plus, if you're interested in how chocolate is made, you can find it yourself and see the process directly here.

If you're looking for a place to stay in “The Hidden Heart of Yorkshire”, there are plenty of B&Bs and self-sufficient cottages scattered around. You can always find it somewhere just outside the Hatton Le Hole, but there are plenty of parking spaces so you can enter the venture by car, but that's entirely up to you.
