One of the world's countries considered to be the most friendly to tourists, sometimes the most beautiful beaches and thrilling for visitors. More and more hot spots are tired of overtourism, and places like Mallorca, Barcelona, Venice and Lisbon have seen major protests from locals who are concerned about the high level of impact of visitors to their homeland. However, other places are more welcoming to tourists and there are plenty of options if you want to feel safe during your summer holidays.

According to the famous tourist publication CN Traveler, one of the most friendly countries in the world that tourists should go to is the Maldives. Located in the Indian Ocean, south of India and Sri Lanka, this gorgeous Archiperigo is filled with scenic beaches, incredible nature and luxurious resorts. It is also home to some of the friendly people we've ever met, according to multiple travel experts. Countries such as Spain, Portugal and Italy get bored of too many tourists, but it may be time to look even further, like the Maldives.

CN Traveler gave the Maldives a friendly score of 93.5 out of 100. This was based on the experiences of readers at various Destiny Knightons around the world and voted for the most welcome location as an international visitor.

The Maldives are renowned for their hospitality and warm welcome. But there are many more to attract you to this series of islands too.

The beautiful beaches rated at the top of the Maldives are not home to bikini beaches, famous for their white sand and crystal clear waters. It offers a true taste of paradise for summer holidays. One TripAdvisor reviewer called it “surprising” and another labeled it as “perfect.”

Other popular beaches for tourists in the Maldives include Beligandu Island Beach, Bikini Beach, Garhi Beach and Hurhumaar Beach. There is also a lot to do on the island.

Alimatha Island is famous for its underwater bungalows and is actually an experience like someone else. If you can stay in one of these small homes, it's a truly surreal experience.

There is also a banana beach where many tourists go scuba diving and snorkeling, incorporating the fascinating and diverse marine life just below the water. One of the online reviews called Experience here was called “absolutely amazing” and the emotion echoed through Hudreds More.

Like beach fun, many cultures and history can be incorporated when you're in the Maldives. The country is home to many mosques visited by tourists, and offers local food as well as local markets.

Tourism in the Maldives continues to grow, and Britons are beginning to discover what is actually on offer here. To get to the Maldives from the UK, you can fly British Airways directly from London's Heathrow Airport to Verana International Airport (MLE).

If you are departing from other UK airports, you can connect flights along the way. A trip to this stunning country can cost you from hundreds to £5,000 or more, from budget-friendly stays to more luxurious holidays.

Several providers sell package holidays to this Asian country, including Virgin Holiday, British Airways and TUI.
