The village of Treen, Penzance, is located about three and a half miles southeast of the land edge of Cornwall. Famous for its cliff walks and birdwatching offerings, it is the closest access point to the famous Logan Rock. Another Cornish gem hidden by the sturdy coast is the Pedn Vounder Beach, which happens to be a global front runner.

Ranked as the 25th best beach in the world with Big 7 Travel in 2023, Pedn Vounder means “head lane” or “end lane” when translated from Cornish. This is a sight seen with crystal clear blue water and white sand. And travelers in Condé Nast named it 2025, one of the UK's best beaches. But we don't speculate on beaches that are popular with nudists. Located on the western edge of Cornwall, this region feels a world apart from the power of the Atlantic Ocean.

Trien can easily reach for your car and don't miss it if you're in Penzance. It is also very close to Porthcurno and The Minack Theater, one of Cornwall's most famous beaches.

The narrow lanes lined with whitewashed cottages and moss-surrounded stone walls provide all the coastal charm that visitors would like, but the village has more than eye-catching.

Treen's Logan Rock Inn is renowned for its amazing food and drinks and friendly Cornish hospitality. As for Logan Rock, this incredible natural landmark is an impressive cliff topped with 80 tonnes of boulder known as Castle Trelin (or Tren).

There is also a family-run campsite and a dairy farm. The former is perfect for staying overnight if you want to make the most of your Pedn Vounder Beach (vehicle only). This has an amazing sunset.

I stumbled upon a campsite myself in 2024, and it's one of the highlights of Penzance. You can stay at the Tree Farm Campsite by paying a very reasonable fee via the ticket machine. I paid £10 24 hours a day for one car. The site will feature public toilets and a small cafe offering delicious morning coffee.

If you get there early, you can put a bag of ocean views that you can't beat. If you're a fugitive, a 10-minute walk will lead you to the stunning Pedn Vounder and the beaches of Porthcurno.

The two passes leave the trien towards the cliff. A larger path passes the campsite and reaches the cliff above the beach of Peddon's feather device, but the second path takes the southeastern route through the fields to appear on the cliffs of Tren Castle.

Both routes take part in the southwest coastal road of the cliff about a mile away.

When it comes to Cornish Beaches, the Pedn Vounder is unparalleled. Many Brits refuse to admit that they have anything that beats the tropical coastline in the Maldives and Caribbean, but I ask for it different.

Certainly, it's the best on a bright day, but the dramatic scenery makes it amazing.

The remoteness of the pedn bounder is only added to its appeal. Until recently, you may have had sand on yourself. But today, the phrase comes out, especially considering the interests of the world's best beach rankings.

But even at its peak, the shape of the amphitheater in the Bay somehow spreads to the crowds. You can sit on the edge of the water or get caught up in the solar heating rocks below the cliff.

Lifeguards do not patrol these waters, so visitors should be careful. When you enjoy the fun cove, stick to the shallows and beware of the waves.

The beach is completely submerged by the tide, allowing access to both sides of low tide for a few hours. The tide can enter very quickly, so always check the tide time before visiting.

Rocks can be very scrambled to navigate, so pack sturdy shoes for your walk. However, young families and pets seem to do that easily.

There are no amenities on the beach, so grab a paste or bring a packed lunch to enjoy the views of the Sandy Peddon Bounder. On your way home, stop by on the rocks to catch the orange glow of the horizon. You will never regret it.
