Greece is one of the favorite destinations of British holiday makers, and it's no surprise. The gorgeous Mediterranean country boasts a vibrant culture, incredible food, pristine beaches and incredible landmarks. In 2024, Greece is one of the most visited countries in the world, with a record 35.9 million tourists collided with one of the many holiday spots. With many such tourists visiting the country every year, you can expect to see a crowd of tourists during the more popular season.
While this applies to some of the more popular destinations, such as Mykonos, which attracts over 2 million visitors each year, and Mykonos, which attracts 3.4 million people a year, Greece has hidden gems that are just as beautiful. Pax is a great example.
The stunning Greek island, just south of Corfu, features crystal clear waters, hidden coves and picturesque beaches, but separating it from islands like Mykonos and Santinori is a genuine relaxing experience thanks to the fact that it attracts around 250,000 tourists each year.
There are about 30 beaches scattered along the coastline, all showing off the beauty of the island in a variety of ways. Erimitis is considered one of the best beaches on the island and has a TripAdvisor rating of 4.6 stars.
One visitor said, “Lucky Customer! The most beautiful beaches in Pax! The breathtaking routes, the blue sea and white pebbles make up an incredible experience that remains etched in your memory!”
Traditional villages such as Gaio, Logos and Raqqa are also worth visiting to get a real experience of the culture of this small island. Plus, the narrow streets, colorful houses and the taverna are also very appealing to look at.
Paxos doesn't have its own airport. Instead, tourists usually fly to Corfu and then board the island, but boat trips don't just take you there. You can also rent one or take a guided boat tour to explore every inch of the island and its island.
Or, if you want to explore on foot, there are plenty of scenic trails that offer great insight into the production of olive oil and Pax's legacy in the wine industry. The walk takes visitors through olive groves, vineyards and, of course, through beautiful coasts with incredible views of the Ionian Sea.
